A cheerful Irish gnome for St. Patrick's Day. It's made on a printed grid foundation, so every square lines up without matching points, and it's beginner friendly.

Finished sizes:

• 1" finished squares: 18" x 27" (cut 1.5" squares)
• 1.5" finished squares: 27" x 40.5" (cut 2" squares)
• 2" finished squares: 36" x 54" (cut 2.5" squares)

How it goes together

EasyPiecing Grid is a lightweight fusible foundation that gets sewn right into your project. Lay your squares on the printed grid foundation and press them in place. Fold and sew along the dotted lines, clip the intersections, and press the seams so they nest. Then sew the second set of seams and give it a final press. No pins and no fussy matching, just clean, crisp squares every time.

Helpful tips

• Tack your cut squares in place with a washable glue stick before pressing.
• Use a pressing sheet so the adhesive doesn't stick to your iron or ironing board.
